Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital with her family by her side, Patricia DeVries (née Haller) passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the age of 65.
Beloved wife of Jack DeVries. Loving mother of Sheri DeVries. Loving daughter of the late Carl and Shirley Haller. Dear sister of Joanne Morphy (Geoff). Cherished aunt of Michael Matunin (Julia), Matthew Matunin and Lauren Canham (Chris), Brittany Morphy. Patricia will also be sadly missed by the church communities she served in Sault Ste. Marie, Blind River, Hamilton, and Kakabeka Falls, ON.
Patti loved to teach Sunday School, which she did for 50 years. She also had a passion for directing Christian camps and ministering to child and youth. She'll be missed by the many young people who she taught or worked with.
Friends may visit First Baptist Church (465 Albert Street E.) on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 12 noon until time of funeral service at 2 pm. Pastor James Thomas officiating. Interment at a later date at Caledonia Cemetery. As Patti was a camp enthusiast and director, memorial contributions (payable online or by cheque) to Turtle Mountain Bible Camp or Galilean Bible Camp would be appreciated by the family.
