Edwin Nolan “Noly” Delhenty passed away in his 90th year on Saturday, August 31, 2024, with his loving family tenderly by his side. Nolan’s loving spirit is carried on by his wife Marilyn of 66 years. Their children, Shelley Miller (Jim), Barry (Laura), Sherri Delhenty (Derward) who were so proud to call him dad.

Nolan was born in Webbwood and raised in Thessalon. He joined the family barbering business as a newlywed. He married his sweetheart Marilyn in 1958 and began their life together.

Nolan was fondly known as Grandpa and Papa to his 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. They were the apple of his eye and a constant source of love and joy.

Preceding Nolan in peace were his parents Gordon and Evelyn Delhenty. Nolan was the youngest surviving of 6 siblings including, Crandon, Leamon (Margaret), Florence McFarling (Rueben), Dorothy Diltz and Bonnie Robinson (Ted). Son-in law of the late Marion Hoyle, survived by his brother-in-law Don Hoyle and his wife Betty. Also, many nieces and nephews who loved his wicked sense of humour as much as we did.

Nolan was a man of many talents. A man of more strength than you can ever imagine.

Nolan was an extraordinary, ordinary man who lived his life sharing and enjoying his adventures with family and friends on Cockburn Island or snowmobiling, boating in the North Channel or going to the hunt camp with the boys.

Nolan treasured his lifelong friendships with Dean Russ and Len Mortimore and all the great times they had together, but his best adventures were shared with his wife Marilyn by his side.

Nolan will be missed by his fun loving and helpful neighbours Sylvia and George Nippers and Joe and Sharon Webb. Also, the many dear friends from Windmill Campground.
