June 29, 1941 - January 15, 2023

It is with profound sadness that the family of Carol Delabbio announce her peaceful passing on Sunday January 15, at the age of 81.

Beloved wife and best friend of the late Gordon Delabbio. Cherished mother of Tracey Theriault (Chris) and Carolyn Whittaker (Wayne). Proud grandmother of Frank (Alisha), Melissa (James) and Jenna (Nick) Theriault and Ryan and Chloe Whittaker. Adoring great grandmother to Alivia, Brooklyn, Jeffrey, and Cole. Predeceased by her parents Betty and Earl Adam. Special friend to Marg Irwin, Kathleen MacDonald, Eileen Johns and so many others she came to meet and know throughout her lifetime.

Carol enjoyed a long career with the HSCDSB as a primary school teacher helping to shape and enrich the lives of so many children in the Soo. In retirement, Carol spent her time with her husband Gordie having morning coffee at the Westside Cafe, tending to her beautiful garden, cooking delicious meals for family and most importantly spending quality time with her beloved grandchildren.

Mom, Grandma thank you for being "our" person. No matter how hard life got, one visit or talk with you could make everything feel so much better. You loved unconditionally and have shaped each and every one of us into the people we have become today. Thank you for making your house a home for all of us to enjoy.

Special thank you to all the doctors, nurses and health care professionals at SAH and Bayshore for making it possible to have our mother spend her final days comfortably at home with her family. Extra special thank you to our family friend Kathy Ferguson for going above and beyond in making sure our family was supported and well-fed during these past few weeks. Carol loved you like her own.

Friends and family are invited to visit Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E., 705-759-2522) on Thursday January 19, 2023 from 11:00 am - 12:45 pm with a service to follow in the chapel at 1:00 pm with Father Jeff Shannon officiating.
