Passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5, 2020 while under the care of Sault Area Hospital. Born on August 12, 1954 at Plummer Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
She was raised in Goulais by her parents and eventually moved Sault Ste. Marie where she raised her two sons. She also helped many families raise their children as their nanny. Betty enjoyed embroidery, reading and most of all being a mom and grandmother. She is survived by her two brothers Donald Monto Jr (Jerryann) and Harold Monto along with her sisters Anne Monto and Sharon Monto, her sons Thomas Dawson Jr (Alice) and Wesley Dawson and her beloved granddaughters Mya Dawson and Kora Dawson. Her many nieces and nephews. She also had some very dear friends in her life as well Lori Reinholtz, Karen Rowat and Cheryl Bielhartz. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Donald Sr and Isabel Monto, her brother Clifford Monto and her close friend Stacy Barbiere.
Due to Covid-19 and the border closure, the family is not having a service at this time. When things are open again they will have a small graveside service.
