July 11, 1949 – January 24, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Brenda Dannrath, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Brenda passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 24, 2025, at the Sault Area Hospital.
Brenda was the loving wife of her late husband, Rudy. She was a devoted mother to Darryl, Dwayne (Kelly), and Tracy (Domenic), as well as a cherished stepmother to Nelson, Tyson (Brandy), and Denny. Brenda was a proud and loving grandmother to Dustin, Daniel, Mathew, Andrew, Emily, Ella, Evan, Bryanna, Kyla, Fox, Miyaubin, and Mackenzie. She was predeceased by her parents, Hazel Woito and Hector Dunbar, as well as her brothers, Gary Dunbar and Bill Dunbar. She is survived by her brothers, Les Dunbar and Rick Hayward (Rozanne), and her sister, Beth Scutt.
Brenda dedicated many years to her work at Van Daele, where she poured her heart into caring for others. She was truly passionate about what she did and always went the extra mile to help those in need. Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds—she was the type of person who always put others before herself. Whether it was family, friends, or even strangers, Brenda was always willing to lend a helping hand. Brenda found joy in life’s simple pleasures—cherishing summers spent camping at her trailer, surrounded by loved ones. She was a talented knitter who found happiness in creating handmade treasures, especially her famous socks. Brenda’s vibrant spirit and charm will be deeply missed. She had a love for music and dancing that brought joy to those around her. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family will forever be remembered.
Brenda will be deeply missed by her aunts, uncles, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be fondly remembered by her lifelong friends Colleen and Cathy, as well as her dear neighbour and friend Donna, who shared many cherished moments with her over the years. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Lily, her loyal companion who brought her so much comfort and joy.
Though she is gone, her love and spirit remain with us always.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Schamp, Dr. Buehner, Dr. Chung, and Dr. Reich for their exceptional care and compassion. We also extend our sincere gratitude to the staff at Sault Area Hospital.
