Cooney, Stephen Harcourt

In loving memory of Stephen Harcourt Cooney, 94 yrs, who passed away peacefully at Algoma Manor January 12th.  Loving father of Brenda Dumas (Philippe) of Hearst Ont. Dear son of the late Michael and Alice Cooney.  Cherished brother of Michael Cooney of Blind Bay BC, Betty Mercer (Dick) of Enderby BC, Doreen MacEachern of Sudbury, Marilyn Bailey of Port Coquitlam BC and dear brother-in-law of Dorothy Cooney of Ignace. Predeceased by his sisters Belle Peever and Evelyn Smerek, and his brothers John, Frank, Norman and Ronald.  He will be fondly remembered by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  The family would like to thank the staff at Algoma Manor for the wonderful care given to Steve for many years.  In keeping with Steve's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.  Steve was a kind and generous man who helped his family whenever he could. He served in the armed forces from 1939 to 1945 during the second world war.  He will be deeply missed.  Arrangements entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home, Thessalon, Ontario.
