Peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the age of 92.
Beloved husband of the late Ida Cooksley (nee Kirkness). Loving father of Gail Watson. Proud grandfather of Dennis Watson (Monique Hyyrylainen), Anne Watson-Bonin (Tom Willet) and the late Adam Watson. Great Grandfather of Alexis Bonin, Abbegale Bonin, Andrea Bonin and Taylor Martin. William is predeceased by his parents William and Eva Cooksley and by his brothers and sisters Marianne Cooksley, Burton Cooksley (late Elsie), Mildred Sloane (late Ernest), Jean Robinson (late Sam) and Albert Cooksley. Dear brother-in-law of Verna J. Kirkness and predeceased by Clarence Kirkness, Margaret Romaniuk, Mary Ann Duncan, Darlene McNeil and Reggie Kirkness. Bill will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
At Bill's request there will not be a funeral service. Interment Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions (payable online or by cheque) to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the SAH Cancer Care Fund would be appreciated by the family.
