Cooke, Mr. Floyd Elwood

(October 26, 1927 – June 15, 2014) - Peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Thessalon Hospital on Sunday, June 15, 2014.  Floyd Cooke of Little Rapids in his 87th year, beloved husband of Violet Collver Cooke and the late Coral Cooke.  Loving father of Dale Mathieu ( Greg ) of Thessalon, Nancy Beilhartz ( Wendell )  of Rock Lake, Becky Brock ( Jerry ) of Thessalon, Randy Collver of Goulais River, Bruce Cooke ( Shirley ) of Belle River, Sandy Seabrook ( Garnet ) of Little Rapids, Charlie Cooke ( Tracey ) of Thessalon and the late Brian Cooke.  Special Grandpa to 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  Dear son of Ambrose and Cora Cooke.  Dear brother of Fern, Melva, Bill, Gloria, Bob and the late Dora, Raymond, Clayton, Betty and Bruce.  Dear brother-in-law of Anne Bigelow, Ruby Conway and  Betty King.  Special uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Floyd was a proud 50 year member and Past Master of Dyment Masonic Lodge and served as Foreman, Manager and later Maintenance Supervisor at Midway Lumber Mills during a career that spanned over 40 years.  At Floyd’s request cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Floyd’s life will take place at the Gazebo in Little Rapids on Wednesday June 18, 2014 from 10am to 11am followed by a luncheon.  Interment will take place privately at Pine Grove Cemetery.  Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Blind River District Health Centre - Thessalon Site gratefully accepted.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home, Thessalon, Ontario.  www.beggsfh.com
