With broken hearts, yet countless wonderful memories, we announce the passing of Robert Congdon on Monday, February 27, 2023, Rob died peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital due to an infection following a recent round of chemotherapy.

Rob is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Joan, as well as his children, Spencer and Jenna, and his mother-in-law, MaryAnn McComiskey. He is predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Winifred.

Forever a family man, Robert had a special connection with his children; he would be out riding motorcycles with Spencer, or taking to the slopes with Jenna on their snowboards. He was honored to be their father and thankfully they were able to be by his side during his final week. This same affection extended to his children’s partners, Gillian and T.J., who brought even more joy into his life. Rob often reflected on his memories with Joan, who was truly his best friend; from game shows to cruise ships, they faced every adventure together. Rob is lovingly remembered by his extended family and close friends from Nova Scotia to British Columbia. He was a gentle, giving, and compassionate soul who generously gave of his time
and endless talents. He was also a role model of living life to the fullest, frequently traveling and enjoying the great outdoors. Special thanks to those dear friends that helped us through these last three, very difficult years. Thanks as well to the staff at the Sault Area Hospital who were so kind and professional during his time there. Having a supportive community around him helped make the most of his time
and effort spent battling for his health.

A private family ceremony will be held in Nova Scotia at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Rob and his family would appreciate donations made payable by cheque or online to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation https://www.sahfoundation.com/ and Tracy’s Dream http://www.tracysdream.com/ in support of those continuing to battle cancer.  Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. -705-759-2522).  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Congdon family.
