Passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by her loving family and friends on August 14, 2024, at the age of 46.

Much loved daughter of Robert Colynuck and Carolynn Iacucci (Frank), cherished mother to her greatest invention Aeden Phoenix, beloved sister of Laurin Chamberlin (Jory), and adored Teetee to Avery Pearl.

Kara entered the world on August 1st, 1978, and spent her next 46 years on this planet being an utter force of nature. She was tireless in pursuit of her passions. She could never be still and there isn't enough room to note the service she provided on innumerable boards or her many activities throughout her life. Her biggest love, however, was community theatre. In addition to working backstage on many shows, she also appeared in dozens of local productions beginning in the 1990s with an appearance in the chorus of Sweeney Todd, but more recently shows such as Les Miserables, Mamma Mia, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Evil Dead (twice), and Jersey Boys. She was most excited to have been cast as Mrs. Lovett in an upcoming production of Sweeney Todd which she felt was a full circle moment in her life as an actor, and she would have delighted audience-goers with her take on this role. Kara was always ready with a smile and a warm hug for her friends, she loved big and made sure everyone knew how she felt.

Her friends and family will hold her memory dear. In a final act of generosity, Kara was able to donate her liver and kidney to save the lives of two people. Her singing and dancing are not done yet.

“Kara-Palozza” will be planned at a later date in accordance to Kara's wishes. Kara's son, Aeden, is currently enrolled in post-secondary school and we invite friends and family to donate to a Trust Fund held by his Aunt Laurin to help with his future needs and care.
