CLATTENBURG, Rae Douglas "Barney" August 3, 1944 - December 27, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Rae Douglas "Barney" Clattenburg in his 80th year.
Predeceased by his parents Ray and Jean. Best friend and grandfather to Matthew (Breanna) Conway, great grandfather to Charlee and Colson.
Barney is also survived by countless friends who were like family to him. Known for his quick wit and infectious humour, he could brighten any room with a joke or a heartfelt laugh. Barney had a passion for all sports but mostly his Chicago Bears and Washington Capitals. He had such a giving heart, always ready to lend a hand or share what he had with others, no matter how big or small.
He leaves behind many cherished memories at the Hockey rink, YMCA, Sault Country Club, Curling Rink and the Football Field. While his presence will be deeply missed, his laughter and wisdom will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him.
In accordance with Barney's wishes there will be no funeral, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
A heartfelt thank you the Rowe’s, Conway’s, Perlini’s, Barsanti’s and McFarlane’s for all the visits. It meant the world to him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) may be made to JumpStart for any youth sports in his memory. Online condolences and tributes can be made and found at www.arthurfuneralhome.com.
May he rest in peace and always feel the love of his family and friends.
