After years of battling so many health issues, passed peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital, with her family by her side on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at the age of 68.

She is survived by her daughters Leanne Metivier (Paul) and Monique (Tim), grand daughters Makayla Legge (Devin), Vanessa (Cody), Hannah, Melissa and grandson Noah (Danika). Along with her special great grandsons that she adored, Lincoln and Cameron Legge. They will mourn the passing of their Mom, Nana & Nana G.  Lorraine was the daughter of the late Bill and Pearl Hewitt. Sister of the late Sandra, Lillian (late Harvey), Bill Jr (Kathy), Jim (Carol), late Larry (Linda), Rob (Nicky), Dan (Debbie).

Family was what kept Lorraine going, especially getting to watch Lincoln play AC/DC concerts and sharing her love for ice chips with Cameron.

The family would like to thank the many people in Lorraine's life that helped with her care. To Dr. Woolner for your kindness & care, the Rome's Pharmacy, the many Doctors and Nurses who cared for her over the years and the Cancer Clinics.

A very special thank you to the amazing Renal Nurses, Dr Shaffiee and Dr Barry that spent the last 18 years with her. Your care and compassion did not go unnoticed. Thank you to Natalie from ICU for your extra care and compassion was appreciated during this difficult time.

Our family would also like to thank Ronald Chartrand for still being there for Lorraine through these difficult times.

At Lorraine's request there there will no be a funeral service. Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street E. 705-759-2522). A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions (payable online or by cheque) to The Sault Area Hospital Renal Department in honor of Lorraine's time spent with them.  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Chartrand family.

Close your eyes
And rest your weary body.
It is your time to be free.
Rest in Peace,
Love you Always,
