Lovingly and forever remembered, Andy Guy Charbonneau passed peacefully on November 6, 2024, with family by his side. He was born on February 9, 1951, in Rouyn Noranda, Quebec.

He is survived by Veronica, his high school sweetheart who became his loving wife of 52 years. He was known for his sense of humour, thoughtfulness and being a good listener. He was unwavering in his support and love for his family.

As a youngster, he sold newspapers standing on the street corner in Sudbury offering The Sudbury Star for 45 cents. He joined the Blind River Air Cadets as a teenager and later the Volunteer Fire Department for the Township of the North Shore. Andy was a motor coach driver for over 30 years and while on tours he made many good friends. He was also the driver for many local hockey teams including the Soo Greyhounds. He felt privileged to know the hockey players who excelled and were recruited by the NHL.

He is also survived by his children Colin (Angela), Ian (Yolanda) and Andrea (Stuart) Smith. He was blessed with six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Brother of Gail Traynor (Ken) and uncle of many nieces and nephews. Son of the late Joe and late Lynn Charbonneau.

In retirement, Andy enjoyed summer outdoor sports, woodworking and kayaking. He enjoyed a beer on the deck watching the water of Lake Huron, the birds at the feeders, and Chippy chipmunk gathering seeds and peanuts in its cheeks. He had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs, from Thunder the Alsatian to Daisy the Spoodle to Babe the Chihuahua.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Andy's life will be held at a later date. Donations to animal shelters, The Salvation Army or The Red Cross in Andy’s memory would be appreciated.

The family would like to thank the medical teams of the Blind River North Shore Health Network and Sudbury Health Sciences North.

Arrangements entrusted to Menard Funeral Home.
