CHANDLER, George Warren

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George, a great husband, father, grandfather and brother. Born in Sault Ste. Marie on July 12, 1951, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on the evening of March 21, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents George Sr. and Audrey Chandler, George will be remembered by his loving wife of 42 years Jocelyn as well as their children Erin (Peter), Christopher (Kristen) and Jennifer and granddaughters Charlie and Harper. George also leaves behind his sisters Pat, Judi (Bill Parr), Bonnie (Ben Pino), Dona (Andy Hepburn) and brother Shane (Paula), all of Sault Ste. Marie, as well as 29 nieces and nephews. George will always be remembered as a family man, a great friend and a well-respected businessman in the Calgary community. With great care from Dr. Sally Talbot Jones and the exceptional staff at the Chinook Hospice, George was able to enjoy life right until the final minute. George will leave behind memories of golfing, fishing and spending time with his family and friends at his homes in Calgary, Buck Lake and Phoenix. A memorial service will be held at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home at 24223 Township Rd 242, Calgary AB on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
