It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our father, Neil, at the Sault Area Hospital on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the age of 87. Predeceased by his loving wife Rita Rowat (Vaillancourt) and special friend and partner of Edna Ibbitson.
Dear father of the late Michael Rowat, Lyle Rowat (D’Arcy), Marty Rowat (Nikki), Sherrie Kent (Graham) and Shellie MacDonald (David). He will be remembered always as Poppa to Jami, Michael, Rebecca, Sam and Holly. He will be remembered as Big Poppa to Andie, Ellie, Rhett, Kyla and Brooklyn. Dear Father figure and friend to Kevin and Zach. Son of the late Ray Rowat and the late Daisy (Hallett). Brother of the late Betty Stone (late Albert), late Percy Rowat (late Annie), late Marie Stone (late Edward, late Jim Nokes), late Bob Rowat (late Myrt), late Minerva Rains (late Leslie), late Edith Rowat and the late Gordon Rowat (Marian). Son-in-law of the late Frank Vaillancourt and the late Bernice Hoeg. Brother-in-law of the late Fran Teske (late Burt), Ed Vaillancourt (Audrey), Paul Vaillancourt (Raye), late Kit Legere (Eric), late Evie Mojsuk (late Bill), late Roger Renaud and Sharon Armstrong. Special Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 374 (1534 10th Side Rd, Richards Landing) on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow.
