It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth, peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Friday, April 17, 2020 in her 70th year. Soulmate and beloved wife of Don Laity for 45 beautiful years. Loving mother of Roseanne Eklund (Richard) and Jeanine Laity. Cherished grandmother of Owen Eklund. Waiting to reunite with her at Heaven’s gate were her parents, Stella and Peter Gradley, her mother-in-law, Enis Laity and her precious grandson, Rayden Eklund. Beloved daughter-in-law of Norman Laity of Chatham, Ontario.   Dear older sister of Sandra Rodgers (Rick) of Calgary, Alberta and Pamela Pressnail (Jim) of Mississauga, Ontario. Sister-in-law of Alan Laity (Sharon) of Port Elgin, Ontario and Mary Lou Muschik (Tom) of Chatham, Ontario. Aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth’s faith was a pillar of her life; she is loved and will be forever missed by her St. Paul’s church family. Memorial
donations (payable by cheque) may be made to St Paul’s Food Bag Program, Ronald McDonald House Southwestern Branch, or a charity of your choice.  In keeping with Elizabeth’s wishes, a private family service has been chosen. Friends and family are invited to join virtually from the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E 705-759-2522) at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 9, 2020 with The Rev. Kim officiating.  Join the Live Stream, Log in at: https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/13858/wait.  The family also extends a heartfelt Thank You to Dr. Tracey Folkard, N.P. and Nurse Susie from Bayshore Health Care for their wonderful care and compassion for Liz so that she could be home with her family at her side.

“The eternal God is your dwelling place and underneath are the everlasting arms” Deut. 33:27

Please be reminded of Liz when you hear her favorite song, “On Eagle’s Wings”…

“And I will raise you up
on eagle's wings,
bear you on the breath
of dawn
and hold you in the palm
of my hand”
Based on Psalm 91
