CARTER, Mary Elaine

Passed away peacefully on July 15, 2017, at age 96 with family by her side.  Bright and well-read, Mary inspired people with her charming personality and wit.  She was kind and generous to those in need and she will be missed by all who knew her.  Beloved wife of the late John Harold Carter.  Loving mother of Helen-Mary and Murdoch (Kim).  Dear Grandmother of Sandra Bouras (Steve), David and Mark Lomas, Christina, Maxwell, Aimée and Murdoch Carter.  Great-Grandmother of Rachel Bouras.  Sister of the late Albert MacDonald (Agatha), and the late Murray MacDonald.  Dear aunt of Harold MacDonald (Patti), Janet Piper (Greg), William Carter, John Carter, and Denise Hugli.  Memorial service to be held from St. Luke’s Cathedral on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 11 am. The Very Rev. Dean McShane officiating.  Interment to follow at St. Luke’s Cathedral Columbarium.  Memorial contributions to St. Luke’s Cathedral Choir, World Wildlife Foundation or Pathways Activity Fund would be appreciated.  Special thanks to the excellent caregivers at Pathways Retirement Home. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (492 Wellington St. East, Sault Ste.
