With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Freddie on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the age of 77.

He was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Margaret, his sister Marilyn Anne, and his brother Bruce.
Freddie will be deeply missed by his daughter Linda (Joe) and his sons Kevin and Steven (Kathy). He was the adored Grandpa Freddie "G-Pa" to Tristen, Noah (Grace), Cole, Ashley, Brooklynn, and Kaiden, and a proud Great-Grandfather to Colby and Ocktavia. Dear brother of Phyllis Hynna (late Tap), Beverly Fabbro (Mike), and Robert (Kim). Freddie is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

A very special thank you to Rose for her love, support, and kindness over many years. Deep gratitude also goes to Freddie’s wonderful neighbours, Debbie, Perry, and Tom, whose friendship and help meant so much to him. Heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Sault Area Hospital, especially Selena, Dr's Gray, Booth and Apostle, and the incredible nurses of 3C, who brought comfort, care, and laughter to his final days—including indulging in his stash of licorice and Nibs.  We would also like to thank the wonderful homecare nurses, Olivia and Sierra and the PSW Stacey and Stephanie for their care and compassion shown to our dad.

Freddie was a man who truly embraced life. He loved the outdoors, spending time fishing and hunting, and was devoted to his home in Haviland Bay. A hard-working labourer/operator at Algoma Steel, he dedicated many years before heading to Fort McMurray, where he continued working—and, of course, fish.

For those who knew Freddie, his passion for sports was undeniable. As a goaltender, he was legendary—often "standing on his head" as the stories go. He was a force in the whip-arm/fastball league at North Street, always ready to play, crack a cold one, watch, or share a great sports tale. Whether casting a line, waiting in a hunting blind, watching for eagle feathers, or simply enjoying the peace of nature, Freddie found joy in every moment. More than anything, he loved a good time, great company, and sharing stories—many of which will live on for years to come.

A celebration of Freddie’s life will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Grand Gardens Downtown (68 Dennis Street) from 4 pm until 7 pm. In his honour, we will raise a glass, share stories, and remember a life well lived. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to ARCH in Freddie’s memory would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be offered at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Cadham family.
