1940 - 2022
It is with deep and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn Anne Byrne (nee Montgomery). Evelyn passed peacefully and calmly at ARCH, after a courageous battle with cancer on March 23, 2022.
Her late husband Gerry was her light and her life, and she has gone to be with him. She leaves behind her sons Stephen (Maureen), Gary (Karen), and her three precious grandchildren, Sarah (Jesse), Emma (Adam) and Adam (Julia), whom she loved ever so dearly. She also leaves behind her family in Ireland; her sister Olive, brother Anthony, and late sister Aileen (Paul), and her nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was a devoted active member of Holy Family CWL for over 30 years. She was an associate of sisters of St. Joseph. Evelyn volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul food bank in lunches for over 18 years and was also active in many other community organizations as a caring volunteer. Evelyn was a woman of strong faith and love of God. May she rest now in peace.
Funeral Mass to be held at Holy Family Church (208 Prentice Avenue) on Monday, March 28, 2022, at 11:00 am followed by a luncheon in the church hall.
We would like to extend a special thank you to staff at Pathways and ARCH, as well as Dr. Booth and the nurses at Paramed, who took such wonderful care of our mom. Your care and compassion will not be forgotten.
