We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and friend at the Algoma Manor at the age of 94. Melba is reunited with her loving husband Les, son Randy (Cathy) and her parents Wilbur and Flora Shuttleworth. Loving and cherished mother of Frank (Katty), Jack (Vicky) and Cyndi Ardiel (Brian). Proud grandmother of Oscar, Karina, Joanna, Priscilla, Kandice, Brett, Christy, Craig and Christopher and great grandmother of many. Predeceased by siblings Alex Shuttleworth (late Ruby), Margaret Sterling (late Joe), Iona Robbins (late Fred) and Adaleen Schaffer. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and her good friend Margaret Osborne.

Melba and Les were owners of Burley’s Camp on Cummings Lake for over 34 years where together they raised their family and made many good friends from all over Canada and the US. In later years Melba travelled the world with her sisters Iona and Ilona “Aunt Mutt.” She visited China, Russia, France, Mexico and several other countries. She enjoyed downhill skiing, cooking, quilting, knitting and crocheting. She also hunted and fished. Melba lived a long and full life and was blessed with many deep and meaningful experiences and friendships.

The family wishes to thank all the people at Lighthaven Christian Home and the Algoma Manor for going above and beyond in caring for our mother.

There are no services. Cremation has taken place. Burial at Cloudslee Cemetery will be in the Spring of 2023.

If desired, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association are appreciated by the family and can be made online at www.diabetes.ca
