BUCHANAN, Gwendolyn (Gwen) Patricia

Died peacefully in her 69th year at the Van Daele Nursing Home in Sault Ste. Marie, on Thursday, September 15, 2005, following a three and a half year struggle for life. Beloved wife and best friend for 46 years to Duane Buchanan. Mother of Leslie Ann Jones (Geraint) and Alison Mary Watson (Bryan) both of Ottawa. Grandmother to Mackenzie, Sidney and Griffin Jones and to Hunter and Spencer Watson. Gwen was the daughter of the late William and Clara Boston (Oldroid) and goddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hurd, who raised her from childhood. Daughter-in-law of the late Clifton and Mary Buchanan. Sister of Hubert (late Bertha), Arnold (Joan) all of Sault Ste. Marie and the late William (late Eileen), late Dorothy Gulley (Cliff) and the late Vera Brinson (Bud) of Ohio. Sister-in-law of Coyla Graver (late Charles) of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Lois Bentson (George) and Diane Hilderly (Sid) of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Special thanks to the staff at Van Daele Nursing Home for their tender and loving care. Special thanks also to Hannah Martin and Lynda Hodgson who tirelessly supported Gwen with their treats, visitations and outings during her illness. Gwen will be missed by all who knew her as devoted mother, loyal and supportive wife and friend. Visitation for immediate family, cousins, aunts, uncles and closest friends will be held at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Monday, September 19, 2005 from 11:30 am until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1 pm.
