Passed away with family by her side at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, October 22, 2015, at the age of 89. Beloved wife and best friend of Albert for 66 years. Mother of Brenda Filek (Marvin), Barry Brooks (Faye), Beryl McGauley (John), and Barbara Ritchie (Larry). Grandma to Kelli Filek (Paul Faubert), Jason Filek (Jenny), Madeline and Robert Brooks, Sara Lampard (Greg), Alison McGauley (Matt Van Ast), and Rebecca, Matthew and Liza Ritchie. Great grandma of Brock, Morgan, Austin, Rhyan, Jackson, Elliette, Sawyer, Gavin, Mackenzie, and Alexa. Sister of Don Corrigan (late Grace). Sister-in-law of Lloyd Brooks (late Connie) and Jack Brooks (Eva). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Lorna always had a love for life and passion for travelling with her devoted husband Albert. She enjoyed an active social life which included volunteering for over 50 years at the hospitals, church activities, White Shrine, bridge club, and the Red Hat’s Society. Over the years Lorna developed many lasting friendships and enjoyed many special occasions with her family.
Respecting the family’s wishes, a private family service will be held.
