It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Jerry at the age of 82. Son of the late Helen and Herbert Boyle. Proud father of Kim (Peter), Jeri "Chickie" (James) and the late Philip (Heather). Memory-making Grandpa to Kourtlyn, Krista, Jordon (Victoria), Joshua (Alisa), Emma (Damon) and Adam. Honorary Grandpa to Davey, Dustin and Conrad. He will be missed by his brother Bruce (Phyllis). He is predeceased by his brother Roy (Elizabeth) and his sisters Joan (late Norm), Ruth (Paul), and Brenda (Larry). He will be missed by his special friend Linda and extended family Ronny and Randy. He will also be missed by Cheryl, his life-long friend. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews who will also miss him.
Our father was a successful entrepreneur many times over. His work ethic was over the top which he instilled in all his children. He was a strong willed man with a heart of gold. His home was home to many, he was a father figure to many others over the years. His Generosity was astounding. Anyone who met him would always say "He's quite the character". Our father always spoke his mind, and you always knew exactly what he was thinking even if you might not want to. His quick wit was definitely one of his strongest traits and one never knew what he might say. He loved his family and was supportive of them all. His grandchildren were very special to him. He made many memories with them all.
He loved to be in charge and gave orders to the very end. He was grateful for his family and would often say he was so lucky to have grown up in the era he did as the world today has just gone crazy. There wasn't anything that he couldn't fix or build. His knowledge of all things was truly amazing. He was an adventurous man who travelled the world one might say. If there was a will there was a way. He was well known in the horse world in his younger years. Always keeping his children involved in horse shows both in the Canadian and U.S. circuit. At one point he had acquired his pilot license and made a few flights to the States. There wasn't anything he couldn't do.
The family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to Dr. Apostle, Dr. O'Brien, Kelly Joseph PHCNP, Home Care Staff, Jodi, Nancy, Sierra. A thank you also goes out to neighbour Troy for his care and compassion.
As per Jerry's request there will be no formal funeral service at this time, a private family Celebration Of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522).
