November 16, 1936 - July 16, 2024

Marg was called home to Heaven with open arms on Tuesday, July 16th, 2024.

She was the devoted wife of Gary Bovingdon for 69 years. Together they lovingly raised three children, Heather (Bill), Pam (Frazer) and Cleve. Her grandchildren, Rileigh, Nicolas, Leland, Crystal, Levi, and Kyle were blessed to call her “Nana”. She was Great-Nana to Madilyn, Nixon, Mavis, Jayce, Kasen, McKayla, Morgan, Isaac, Sophie, and Margie. Marg was fortunate to have a large, extended Fantham family. She always looked forward to her nightly telephone marathons with Auntie Lois. She was the sister-in-law of Gloria Losik (late Vic) and Marilyn Davis. Her many nieces and nephews will miss their Auntie Marg. We find solace in knowing that she is reunited in heaven with her parents, Bertha and Lorne Brownlee, her best friend and confidant, Gwen Fantham, her sister Marlene St. Germain and all her friends and loved ones whom she so greatly missed.

Marg was a dedicated member of Christ Church and the Anglican Church Women (ACW) of Canada. She never missed an opportunity to lend a hand, bake a pie, mentor other members of her church community, or simply provide a listening ear to anyone who needed to talk.

Marg and Gary built their home in Korah Township west of Allen’s Side Road. It was where they raised their family and also a place where anyone who knew her was always welcome to a chair at her table for a chat and bite to eat. She had a heart of gold, selfless demeanor, and the best sense of humour. We will miss her laugh, her stories, her advice and her ability to handle anything with grace and strength.

A private service will be held at Christ Church with Rev. Raymond Knight officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to the Christ Church Operating Fund, the ACW or the Algoma Residential Community Hospice would best honour her memory. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522). Please visit www.arthufuneralhome.com obituaries section to leave a message of condolence as a keepsake for the family.

As she always said, “bye for now”.
