Romano came to Canada in 1953 from Italy. He was proud of his Italian heritage and also proud to become a Canadian. He worked for Algoma Steel for 40 years before retiring in January 2011. He loved to help his friends and neighbours in any way he could. He loved to play golf and to cheer on his beloved Yankees.  Romano was happiest when spending time in his garden and with his family.

To the family and friends who supported us during Romano’s illness, thank you for the phone calls asking how we were, the talks over cups of coffee and the shoulders to lean on. To the staff of the F.J. Davey Home, especially those on Apple Orchard 3 and Cedar Grove 3, and Activities Jess & Jen, thank you not only for the care and compassion you showed to Ro during the last 4 ½ years but for the support you gave to us as family. It was so appreciated.
