BISHOP, Christina - passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at the age of 96.

Beloved wife of the late Milton Bishop, loving mother of Dennis (Lori), Lois Lambert (Peter), Blaine and Steven (Sharon). Dear Grandmother of Sarah Bingham (Ted), Nathan Lambert (Jennifer), Tim Lambert, Shane Bishop, Kayla Bishop and Matthew Andres. Great grandmother of Rivers and Connor Bingham and Nathan, Mackenzie and Isaiah Lambert and Noah Andres.

Chris was born in Edinburgh Scotland to Irving and Caroline Musk.  Her two sisters were Ann and Caroline.  Chris met her husband Milton, a Canadian soldier, at a dance on August 13, 1945 when he was on leave.  They corresponded for three years and in June of 1948 Chris flew to Canada to her new home on the Bishop farm on the I Line, St. Joseph Island. Mom was very faithful to keep in touch with her family in Scotland.  She sent an airmail letter to her parents every week. She had lifelong friends from her post office years that she visited every time she was in Scotland.

Mom was an amazing woman with a great memory. She married into a large family with our dad having 9 brothers and sisters.  She remembered birthdays and anniversaries and was a walking dictionary.  Even in the Davey Home at 94 she would win at scrabble and boggle. She had a great sense of humour and would come up with these great sayings and rhymes we had never heard before. She was a great knitter, crocheter and tatter and made many fine crocheted Christmas decorations that adorn all our trees. Over the years she made dozens and dozens of mitts to give to friends, family and those in need.  She was a great woman of faith and attended Grace United Church for many years and then when she moved to Richards Landing she was a regular at Island Bible Chapel and attended faithfully until a bad fall forced her to leave her Island home and move to Pathways and then to the F.J. Davey Home.

There will be a celebration of life announced in the new year.  Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522).  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Bishop family.

We would like to thank all the staff at the F.J. Davey Home Cedar Grove 2 for their care and kindness, with a special thanks to Tracy, Kendra, Melanie and Kim.
