Surrounded by the warm embrace and loving presence of his family members, our beloved Mike passed away at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday, May 19, 2024. As he now rests in the presence of the Lord, we take great pride in the life of respect, service, devotion and love towards others that he lived each day.

Mike leaves behind his adored wife of 54 years, Carmela, who was a source of strength, support and light throughout his life. He was the devoted and proud father of Sav (Franca) and Paul (Jennifer). His strength was admired by his precious granddaughter, Olivia, and his cherished grandsons Michael, Sam, and Sebastien. Grandpa was always willing to go above and beyond to provide for his children and grandkids, and we are eternally grateful for the selfless manner in which he led his life.

Son of the late Carolina and the late Saverio Beltrano. Son-in-law of the late Agata and the late Ippolito Borrelli. Brother of the late Antonio (Assunta), Frank (Assunta), Anna (late Antonio), Maria, Aurora (late Luigi), Rita, Joe (Rosa), and Luigi (Rosa). Brother-in-law of the late Domenic (Jane), Frank (Marcy), Ida (late Orlando), and Ernestina (John). He will be forever remembered by his many cousins, nephews, and nieces who all held a special place in his heart, especially Maria Teresa, his admired niece from England who filled his heart with joy when they spoke to one another by phone or had the opportunity to be together. He will always value the countless hours he spent with his treasured Compare Carmine and Comare Rosetta, gathered around the table into the early hours of the morning enjoying the company of one another.

Mike was a dedicated employee for over 35 years at Algoma Steel. In his spare time, he enjoyed gathering with his friends for coffee, and took pride in creating a beautiful vegetable garden to share with his family and friends. Spending time relaxing in his backyard, or being with his favourite grand-dogs Sophie, Lexi, and Penny brought him a sense of peace and calm. We will miss him rambling about his plans for fixing the Toronto Maple Leafs.

To honour Mike’s wishes, a private Funeral Mass was held at St. Veronica’s Church. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Sault Area Hospital Foundation or St. Veronica’s Church. A heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at the SAH 3A, 3B, 3C and Dr. Karen Booth for the care and compassion shown to Mike and his family during his final days. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758). www.northwoodfuneral.com
