Passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2024.
Loving father of Valerie (late John Charlie), Karen (Ken Casola), Lorna, late Dave, Joe, Sue (Glen Chiblow), late Peter and Derek. Step-father of the late Roberta. Grandfather of Robert, Dillan, Jayce, late Alain and Jacob. Great-grandfather of Phoenix, Tyya, Ozzy, Harmony, Angus and Amayah. Special friend of Kitty Woodcock. Predeceased by his ex-wife Angeline (nee LaRose) and his parents Joseph Edward and Harriet Millard. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family.
Edward was a harvester and a hard working man. He hunted, fished and loved spending time outdoors. Edward spent numerous hours in the bush with his children, showing them an appreciation for the natural world and passing on traditional knowledge. When he wasn't spending his time outside, he could be found inside watching hockey or baseball. Edward loved his John Deere. He spent a lot of time plowing driveways, installing septic tanks for the community in Garden River and he sponsored community youth for hockey. Edward grew up on a farm, taking care of the many animals and gardens and bailing hay, later turning the farm into Bell's Point Campground. He retired from the Steel Plant after 30+ years.
Special thanks to his caregivers.
