April 9, 1947 – November 25, 2024

With a heavy heart we announce the peaceful passing of Bob, surrounded by family at the Algoma Manor, at the age 77. Bob shared his life with his beloved and devoted wife of 13 years, Noreen (nee Jones). Proud father of Jeffrey Baxter (Constance) and Natalie Robinson (Colin) and predeceased by their mother Maureen (nee Gilmour). Cherished Grandpa of Tyler and Olivia. Fondly remembered by his sister Shirley Cannon (late Bob) as well as nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Orval and Edna Baxter.

Bob was born and raised in Caledon East. He served as a Provincial Offenses Officer for the Conservation Authority of Ontario for 30 years. He was proud of his accomplishment having worked very hard to achieve this position.

Bob had a deep respect for nature and wildlife. He enjoyed hunting with his hound dogs, coons and beagles that he personally trained. He was an avid fisherman portaging with his canoe across various terrains and in the winter, he liked to ice fish.

Bob had a quiet personality but liked socializing with family, friends and many acquaintances. He was a dedicated member of Thessalon Bible Chapel where he and Noreen attended for many years.

We will forever miss his witty sense of humour, his feisty comebacks and his creative nicknames for others.

The family wishes to thank the staff at NSHN-Blind River for their kindness and outstanding care, as well as Algoma Manor for their compassion, support and care of Bob, Noreen and family during his stay, especially during his final days. They also want to thank Thessalon Bible Chapel for their support and fellowship and Ron and Norma for their unwavering friendship.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Beggs Funeral Home, 175 Main Street, Thessalon on Thursday, November 28, 2024, between 7pm and 8pm. Arrangements entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home.

Donations to Algoma Manor Charitable Foundation are appreciated by the family.
