BATEY, Thomas Henry

Born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England and recently of Sault Ste. Marie, died peacefully in London, Ontario on February 13, 2005 in his 91st year. "Tom" was husband to Mary for nearly 53 years. He was father to David, his wife Emily (Fata) and was grandfather to Sarah and Amanda Batey. "Tom" constructed many homes in the "Soo", a lasting tribute to his craftsmanship and pride as a builder. He was also very happy to "come out of retirement" and assist the Sault Ste. Marie Board of Education in the Construction Technology program at two high schools, times he truly enjoyed, both with students and faculty alike.
