Arthur passed peacefully on December 10, 2022, at University Hospital London Ontario, in his 90th year. Arthur was the devoted husband of the late Elaine Barrett, cherished father of Kelly (Shawn) and the late Janice (late Eldon); proud poppy of Charles, Melanie, Ava, late “little” Eldon, Tania (late Rick), Nancy, Tiffany (Ross), Natalie (Frankie). Brother of the late George, late Bud (late Vi), and the late James. Brother-in-law of the late Freda Verreault (late Al), Godfrey Jones (Vera), and Colleen Cameron (Alistair). He was the third son of the late Guy and Irene Barrett. Arthur is also survived by his great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Art loved life to the fullest. He had a kind heart and was always ready to lend a hand to people he met. His greatest love was his family; in his younger years they could be found spending special occasions gathered around the piano enjoying music and festivities. Later in life, Art would sit with a smile on his face and watch his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play. He was always up for a game of pool, shuffleboard or cribbage. His passing will leave a hole in the family, and he will be missed. Memorial contributions to the London Health Sciences Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by Art’s family. As per Arthur’s wishes, cremation has taken place. He will be laid to rest in the spring at Hillside Cemetery, Blind River.
