Passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital with family by his side on Sunday, June 6, 2021 in his 75th year after a short battle with leukemia. This gentle, loving, caring and wonderful man has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be deeply missed by his loving wife and best friend Sue of 45 years.  He was predeceased by his parents Worden and Margaret (nee Shackleton), his brother Rodger and his father and mother-in-law Nyle and Marguerite Hambly. He is survived by his brother Kurt and his brother and sisters-in-law Jody and Patti Hambly, Pam and Allen Cook and Stephen and Melanie Hambly. He has been a major presence in the lives of his nieces an nephews Curtis Hambly (Jenn), Claire Jarrell (Matt), Corey Cook (Melissa), Carly Davey (Blake), Ben Hambly (Kathleen), Lia Hambly (Kevin), Rachel Hambly (Dylan) and Hannah Hambly (Tyler). He will be fondly remembered by his nieces Laura Barr and Amanda Buckley (Mark).  He cherished his role as great uncle to Maddy, Makensy, Mitchell & Miller Jarrell, Hunter Cook, Kaiya Davey, Mikayla Hambly, Rylie Hambly, Elinor, Sloan, Scarlett and Lettie Hambly-Quinte and Sterling and Xavier Reid. He will also be remembered by Cooper and Hunter Buckley.  Fondly remembered by his cousins and many special friends, you know who you are.

In his younger years Dale enjoyed playing ball, hockey, refereeing hockey and curling as well as hunting with the Isbester Gang. Later in life his passion was gardening, going to camp, family history, volunteering at the Canadian Bushplane Museum and Christmas Cheer. Dale will be forever remembered for his smile, gentle eyes, caring heart, loving embrace and unconditional love. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and find comfort that he is in heaven watching over us.

Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held in the near future when the COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted with Rev. Nancy Ferguson officiating and his ashes interned at Port Finlay Cemetery.  Our deepest appreciation and gratitude to the Doctors in Ottawa, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie and Michelle Boyce, Pharmacist on floor 5W of the BMT Unit, Ottawa General Hospital.  Memorial donations to the Stem Cell Research at the Ottawa General Hospital Foundation, ARCH, or Emmanuel United Church would be greatly appreciated.  A very special thanks to Carly, Blake, Kaiya, Corey, Melissa and Hunter who were my guardian angels while in Ottawa, I am so grateful that you took such care of me.
