May 12, 1929 – January 11, 2025
With peace and dignity and loving family at her side our beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, great granny, mother-in-law and sister-in-law has joyfully been reunited with her husband Lloyd (d.2019) and her son Rick (d.2020).
Strong and gentle mother of Marla Discher and the late Rick. Extra special mother-in-law to Paul Discher and Mary Barber.
Fiercely proud grandmother of Lesa (Dan), Stacey (Dale), Tracy and Todd (Shannon). Strong, loving and caring great granny of Keaghan (Jade), Kallhan (Brook), Kaedhan, Dalton (Jessica) and Taylor (Isaac) and soon to be great great granny to Baby Levi. Also survived by her fun-loving partner in crime and sister-in-law Margaret McClelland (late Elmer). Lovingly remembered by Bob Gjos as well as her longtime friend Shirley Deplonty. Forever remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.
Lola lived long and worked hard her whole life. She lived for her family and loved life, living it to the fullest with zest, determination and gentle stubbornness. We will forever miss her homemade butter tarts, brownies, knitted socks and mitts as well as her sense of humour and infectious smile.
Rest in peace Mom…..fly high with the hummingbirds.
At this time, the family wishes to thank the paramedics, Dr. Haapala, Dr. Vine and Dr. Jeeves along with nurses and staff with special thanks to Jennifer at NSHN-Blind River site.
As per Lola’s wishes there will be no visitation or service but rather family will meet in the spring for interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery (Gordon Lake). Memorial contributions to the NSHN Foundation - Blind River Site or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home.
