Passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital with her children by her side on September 7, 2024, just shy of her 88th birthday.
Predeceased by her husband Doug Bannister. Survived by her children Doug (Elaine), Sharon (Mark), Steve (Nicky), and Lynda (Dean). Grandmother of Colin, Brandon, Britni, Brett, the late Kaylee, Jenna, Jessica, Francis and William. Great grandmother of 9.
Daughter of the late Arnold and Annie McLean. Sister to the late Lyle (Jean), late Phyllis (Joe), late Ginger (Bud), and late Eldon (Phyillis). Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom’s children were her pride and joy. She was our biggest fan at the rink, ballfield, track or school events. She didn’t miss a game. Any given day, she would have that blue station wagon jam-packed with our friends to get us to where we needed to go. She was a selfless woman, and we will miss her dearly. Grandma … we love you to the moon and back. Thanks for the ride, lady!
As per Roxie’s wishes, there will be no services.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kargbo and all the nursing staff at the Sault Area Hospital for the outstanding care and compassion our mother and family received as well as Extendicare Van Daele for the friendship and compassionate care given to us and mom.
