AUBIN, DEBBI

It is with great sadness that we announce Debbi’s passing after a long illness on Friday December 8th, 2023 at the age of 66, with her niece Pamela and dear friend Sue by her side. A native of Sault Ste. Marie Ontario, Debbi moved to Toronto in her 19th year and began her very successful 40-year long career in the insurance industry. She built a body of work that lead to her direct management of clients ranging from small business owners to national corporations, until her retirement.

Debbi had a myriad of friends from all walks of life, all of whom loved her bright intelligence, spirited resilience, unfailing humour and incredible energy. She was loyal, supportive and considered a family member by many of her close friends.

She was loved and admired by her four siblings and was a fun Aunt to many nieces and nephews who adored her and would often refer to her as “cool Auntie Deb”.

Travel was important to Debbi and she took every opportunity in her personal life to see the world. Always a sun lover, a good number of her destinations were intended to escape the freezing Toronto winters by heading to warmer climates. She loved to explore the history and culture of the locations she visited and had an amazing memory for the details of every experience.

With spunk, strength and dignity, she battled insurmountable medical procedures and setbacks with her illness, while maintaining her independent lifestyle, which was so important to her.

Debbi leaves behind numerous close friends and extended family, her loving brother Rick (Joanne), her dear sister-in-laws Brenda and Maria, her beloved nieces and nephews, Sheldon (Julie), Craig (Jen), Michelle, Pamela (Mike), Jeremy, Andrew, Lucas, and Julian, along with great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her cherished siblings Buddy, David and Nancy, along with her parents Rene and Eileen.

The family wishes to thank the many wonderful MSICU staff at Toronto General Hospital for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Toronto Lung Transplant Program or Toronto General Hospital UHN Foundation is appreciated.

A celebration of Debbi’s life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca
