Peacefully at the Plummer Memorial Hospital on Wednesday July 27,
2005 at the age of 89 years. Beloved wife of the late Paul Asunmaa. Cherished
mother of Pirkko Koivula (Olavi) of Finland and Rita Luomaranta (Lauri) of Sault
Ste. Marie. Loving mummu of Markku Koivula (Auli), Pia Taalas (Veikko) all of
Finland, Vesa Luomaranta (Sara) and Luukas Luomaranta all of Sault Ste. Marie.
Great grandmother of 4. Dear sister of Lempi Laukkanen (late Reino), Saima
Haapa-aho (late Lauri) all of Finland, late Paavo Rantala (Rauna) of Sault Ste.
Marie, the late Veino Majamaa (late Jussi) and the late Hilda Raisio (late Iivari)
of Finland. Sister-in-law of Laura Armstrong (late Reg). Friends may call at the
Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Tuesday August 2, 2005
at 12 noon until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend
Mikko Tervuo officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations made
to the Algoma Community Care Access Centre or the Ontario Finnish Resthome would be
appreciated by the family.
