Suddenly in Edmonton, AB with his wife by his side. Beloved husband and best friend of Diane Duguay Ashton and step-father of Candice. Dear son of Elisabeth Ashton (late Ernest) of Calgary, AB. Brother of Marita Mahoney (Scott) of California , Kristina Mullen (Cary) of Calgary, AB and Charles Ashton (Elizabeth) of Sechelt, BC. Son in law of Emile and Anna Duguay. Brother in law of Robert Duguay, Raymond Duguay (Debbie) all of Sault Ste. Marie. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Friend of Lorraine and Michael Matuszyk, Gail Mattie, Paul Grant, Richard Dewar and Doug Atkinson. Steve Suraci is a very special friend of the Ashton family. James was an employee of Waiward Steel and belonged to local 720 Ironworkers Union. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Sunday, July 30, 2006 from 12 pm until time of memorial service in the chapel at 1 pm. Rev. Don McKay officiating. Memorial contributions to the Liver Foundation, Kidney Foundation or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
