1942-2017
We have lost those twinkling eyes, that sense of determination and the care for others that Sharon possessed. Her love of community, her natural leadership qualities and her quick wit are no longer available to all of us.
Husband Bob, son Scott and daughter Monique will miss her love and constant concern. Kate, Jill, Jonny, Sam, Ben, Gavin and Kelly have benefited so much as she fulfilled her roll as Granny.
Sharon grew up in Bar River, Laird Township. Her parents, Sam and Nina Lapish ran a small farm on Lapish Road. Her cousins Harry (Verna), Jim (Shirley), Roy (Anna), Dan (Janice), Bill, Judy (Mike), Tom, Jim (Diane), Marilyn, Susan (Craig), Frazer (Becky), Mary (Hoa), Bob, Wendy (Paul) and Edie will really miss her.
Sharon utilized her skills in leadership while developing exciting programming at Ste. Marie Among The Hurons. Here she enriched the lives of the staff and the visitors for over a decade. She then moved on to the business community as a facilitator and the creator of the Quality Council for North Simcoe. Her interests expanded to include sketching, painting, writing poetry and prose. She cherished travel throughout the world with a special love of New Zealand.
Her battle with a rare disease, Multiple Systems Atrophy, took away some of her retirement years. She will be remembered by all of us.
Cremation has already taken place. A celebration of Sharons life will be held in the Bar River Hall on Tuesday June 13 from 1 to 3 pm.
