It is with great sadness that the family of Robert “Bob” Anderson announce his passing in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He passed peacefully at Extendicare Maple View.

Robert was the beloved husband of Elna for 6 years and of Daphne for 49 years. He was predeceased by his first wife Daphne (nee Pike), infant son Robert and his second wife Elna Paranuik. Robert felt blessed to have shared his life and love with these two amazing women and their families. He is also predeceased by his mother and father, brother and sisters-in-law Walter Pike, Ralph (Dianne Pike) and Jim Green.

Bob is survived by step-children Gail Roberts (Bill), Michael Paranuik (Carol), Sharon Nelson (Tom), step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren (all of whom he enjoyed and appreciated immensely). His cherished nieces & nephews Debbie Green, Leonard Green (Tracey), John Pike (Christie), Jodi Doxie (David), June Leitch (Roger), Kim Osmond (Chris) and their families. Bob will be missed by his sisters-in-laws Marie Green & Kay Tracey (Joe) and members of the Anderson family.

Bob is remembered by family and friends as a devoted loyal and caring man.  Having been raised in a challenging family situation, Bob felt blessed to marry into the welcoming yet protective arms of Daphne’s Newfoundland family and Elna’s Northern Ontario family. Bob retired from Orenda Aerospace where he was respected for keeping the best interests of his co-workers and the company in the forefront of his mind.  Following retirement, Bob moved to Elliot Lake where he could pursue his lifelong love of fishing. In Elliot Lake Bob found great joy in the natural beauty, dear friendships, social activities and his faith.

Thanks are extended to the staff of Extendicare Maple View, St. Joseph’s General Hospital, Hillside Park Residential Living, Elliot Lake Alzheimer’s Society, Dr. Chow’s Team and the many compassionate workers who always had Bob’s welfare in their hearts and hands.

A private family service will be held at a later date.  Donations in memory of Bob can be made to your local Alzheimer’s Society, the St. Joseph’s Foundation of Elliot Lake (St. Joseph’s General Hospital) or a charity of your choice.

Following Bob’s wishes, cremation took place in Ontario through the care of Alternative Funeral Services, Elliot Lake, ON. Interment in Grand Falls - Windsor NL is entrusted to Central Funeral Homes, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.
