It is with great sadness that the Family of Gladys Anderson (nee Leishman) announces her passing peacefully on April 2, 2021, with her Family by her side at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice.

Gladys, a proud daughter of the late James and Susan (nee Cockburn) formally of Scotland was born on December 16, 1923, in North Bay, Ontario.  She was predeceased by her beloved Husband of 58 years Albert “Andy”, in 2006.  Loving mother of Donald and his wife Teresa of Temple, Texas (and her son Jameson McKee (Tiana), and Richard of Calgary, Alberta.  Dear sister to her predeceased brothers the Morris Leishman (Laura), Philip Leishman (Edith), and Robert (Bob) Leishman (Gwen).  Dear Aunt of Evelyn Bailey (and her son Robert), Carole Willing (Philip), Judith and David Saunders, late Brian Leishman, Rory Leishman (Caroline), Peter Leishman (Sandra), Colin Leishman and the late Hon. Christine Stewart (late David).  

Gladys, lived a long life of love, grace, faith, unwavering strength, and always wearing a smile on her face. Loved to read (novels, history books) and be up to date on current events and spending time with family. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

As per her request there will not be a visitation or funeral, a private graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery by the immediate family. Rev. Dr. Sean Soangik Kim, DTH. of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church will be officiating.

A heart felt thank you to Ella, Elizabeth, Iris, Kathy, Lorraine, Suzy, and Rev. Kim and Elder Don. Along with Dr. Booth, Laura, RN, and Nurse Christine for her special care on Mom’s last day.  Her family wishes to thank the compassionate staff, and all the special care givers and friends at Pathway’s, and ARCH Hospice, and by the many friends and family who loved her.
