April 20, 1949 - April 1, 2018 - We sadly regret to announce the passing of Jay, at home with family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dear husband and best friend of Cheryl and loving father of the late Corey. He will be truly missed by his fur baby Abby. Son of the late Wilfred and Hazell Ambeault, brother of Judith Linn (David) John (Tammy) and Joseph (Wanda). Son-in-law of the late Norman and Ruby Donaghue. Brother-in-law of Lyn Donaghue (Kim) of Winnipeg. Jay will be dearly missed by Brian and Christopher Moore and all his other hunting buddies. We want to thank all the special friends in our lives for the care, food, help, visits, phones calls and especially your prayers. We could not have made it through this journey without you. Our Island is a special place to live. A very special thank you to Dr. Karen Booth, Amy, staff at Sault Area Hospital cancer clinic, Dr Lupien and staff at Matthews Memorial Hospital. In respecting Jay’s wishes, no service will be held until spring interment at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Jocelyn Township when he will be buried beside his son. Memorial donations to NSHN Auxiliary, Matthew’s Site or ARCH Hospice for Children would be greatly appreciated.
