It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anita at the Sault Area Hospital in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. Beloved sister of Teresa (Wayne), Kay, Patricia, Jim (Terry), Michael, Dorothy (Ed). Anita was predeceased by parents Genevieve (nee Sheahan) and James Agnew, her brothers-in-law John Knobel (Kay) and Michael Egan (Patricia), nephew Patrick Agnew and grandnephew Thomas Egan.

"Aunt Anita" enjoyed being involved in the lives of her nieces and nephews: Rob (Cyndi), Carolyn (Mike), Louise (Sean), Stephen (Melanie), Jennifer (Drew), Tim (Leanne), Ed (Janice), Erin (Kirk), Matthew, Jacqueline, Christine, Greg, Albert. She was a proud grand aunt of Sophie, Alex, Zoe, Melanie, Andrew, Anna, Ellen, Owen, Nicholas, William, Jack, Rebecca, Joseph, Luke, Tessa. Anita grew up in Douglas Ontario.

Following graduation from Ottawa Teachers College in 1968, she spent her entire career as an elementary school teacher in Sault Ste Marie. In retirement she enjoyed travelling, was an active volunteer for many causes, became an avid golfer, and comforted her loved, shut-in friends with her piano playing.  Anita had a talent for making and keeping close friends and the family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the kindness, support and solace that they provided over the time of her illness. We are also very grateful for the compassionate care Anita received while in hospital.
