Joanne Lorraine Agawa passed away at the Sault Area Hospital on October 5, 2024, at the age of 24.
Mother of Nimkii. Cherished daughter of Debra Causley and Thomas Agawa Sr. Dear sister of Thomas Jr. She will be missed dearly by many aunts, uncles, extended family and friends on both sides of the border.
Joanne loved animals, especially her cat Jigs. She hoped to one day go to school to be a veterinarian or a nurse.
Her spirit of creativity was not only expressed in her love for art and poetry, but also as a guitar player, and a jingle dress dancer, performing occasionally at pow-wow events on her mother's reserve. Joanne was known for her spirited participation in cultural initiatives and was proud of her culture.
Joanne will be missed dearly by all her family and friends. She will forever be in our hearts and our minds.
