NEWS RELEASE
THINKING ROCK COMMUNITY ARTS
***************************
Thinking Rock Community Arts invites applications from individuals across Algoma to join its volunteer board of directors. We are seeking enthusiastic community members of all nations, abilities, backgrounds and identities who carry a wide range of experience and skills. We welcome applications from folks with backgrounds in marketing, public relations, finance, fundraising, legal, non-profit/charitable management, and more!

Founded in 2012 and incorporated in 2014, Thinking Rock is a non-profit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. The board is a diverse group of community organizers and leaders who, working with our artistic director, provide active leadership and direction that supports and fulfills our mission, mandate and theory of change.

Based in Thessalon, Ont. Thinking Rock is a team of artists, cultural workers and community members of Indigenous, newcomer and settler descent that co-creates art with and for the people living along the North Shore of Lake Huron, from Genaabaajing (Serpent River First Nation) to Baawaating (Sault Ste. Marie) and all points in between. We invite people of all ages, nations, abilities, backgrounds and identities to join us in playing, making and dreaming about this special place we call home – as it was, as it is, and as it might yet be. Learn more about our work on this website.

To apply, please send a current resumé (maximum two pages) and a short statement outlining your relevant experience and interests. Please include phone and email contact details. Applications will be accepted by email or mail.

Emailed applications with 'Call for Board Members' in the subject line must be sent to [email protected] by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022.
