Root River hosts annual Root Open/Jane Barsanti Memorial Tourney

Root River Golf Club is hosting it’s annual 'Root Open/Jane Barsanti Memorial Tournament' on July 9 and 10. This is a 36-hole stroke play event and competitors will be flighted after completion of 18 holes on Saturday July 9th and competitors will play 18 holes Sunday July 10th to determine the winners and 'Open Champion.'

“We are happy to carry on the tradition of hosting this annual tournament at 'The Root'”, Root River Co-General Manager and Owner Dustin Grondin said. The field is capped at 96 golfers, so returning competitors are encouraged to sign up early to secure a spot. Participants will be treated to a steak dinner on Saturday after competition and a 'Pino' sausage Sunday, thanks to the generosity of Mr. Pino. Prizes will be awarded upon completion of flight play Sunday. The cost of the event is $175 and to sign up competitors can call the pro shop @705-759-8776 ext 1.

“The Barsanti Family started this event several decades ago and it is held annually on the second full weekend in July. Golfers mark this date on their calendars and look forward to playing this event,” tournament co-chair Harvey Barsanti said.
