Residents are invited to attend Resource Champions Series, Creating Indigenous Prosperity meeting, which will feature a discussion about the economic impact of resource development on Indigenous communities, as well as the best practices for engaging with Indigenous people for small and medium-sized businesses.

The event starts Oct. 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT via ZOOM.

Join us for the next event in our Resource Champions Series, Creating Indigenous Prosperity, featuring a panel discussion on the economic impact of resource development on Indigenous communities and the best practices in Indigenous engagement for small and medium size businesses. The discussion will include procurement strategies, benefits agreements, equity stakes, and why Indigenous participation in the resource sector is key to Canada’s economy and the global supply chain.

Panel participants include:

  • Michael Fox, president/CEO of Indigenous Community Engagement (ICE)
  • Rob Furlonger, executive director of the Ontario First Nations Economic Developers Association
  • Karen Ogen-Toews, CEO of the First Nations LNG Alliance
  • Jason Thompson, president of Superior Strategies Inc. and Warrior Engineering Ltd.

Advance registration is required for this event, but thanks to the generous support of our sponsor, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, attendance is free.
