NEWS RELEASE
GROUP HEALTH CENTRE TRUST FUND
*************************
Registration is now open for the 17th annual Group Health Centre Pharmacy Charity Golf Classic on Friday, July 20 at Crimson Ridge Golf Club in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
As one of the longest-running golf tournaments in the Sault Ste. Marie area, this annual event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Group Health Centre Trust Fund. This year’s tournament continues the tradition.
This year’s fundraising initiative is the Better, For All of Us campaign, which focuses on raising funds for new medical equipment. GHC’s Surgery department serves thousands of our patients in the community, using state-of-the-art medical equipment to ensure you are given the best care.
Much of this equipment is nearing end-of-life and is in need of replacement, and given that medical equipment is not funded by the government, community support through donations and event participation is crucial. We are currently fundraising for new bedside monitors, endoscopes, pediatric scopes, suction machines, an ENT cautery unit, a colposcope and a mechanical lift.
From a patient perspective, being able to have your surgery performed in a warm, friendly setting with faces you know, delivering the care they need, in a way that makes our patients feel comfortable, is better for them and Better, For All of Us.
Your registration fee of $160 per player or $640 per foursome includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, a light breakfast, lunch, and an awards dinner with raffle prizes and live music.
Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place teams in the men’s, women’s and mixed categories. Individual contests will be found throughout the course, with hole-in-one prizes up for grabs at every Par 3 hole!
To register, please visit trustfund.ghc.on.ca/golf. The registration deadline is Friday, July 6.
