Organizers expect annual Youth Hardwood Classic to be bigger and better

Registration now open for third annual St. Jerome’s Youth Hardwood Classic

33 teams representing every school in Sault Ste. Marie participated in 2016

The third annual St. Jerome Youth Hardwood Classic 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will be held Saturday, Apr. 1 at St. Mary’s College (868 Second Line East). Boys and girls in Grades 5 to 12 (ages 10-18 years) are invited to register a team of up to four players.

The popular event saw 23 teams participate in 2015, and 33 teams participate last year representing every school in the city. Organizers are expecting close to 40 teams this year.

Cost to register is $40 per team (three-four players per team). All teams are guaranteed three games. Registration deadline is Mar. 24, 2017. The day also includes an open-level free throw competition.

Money raised from the event will support St. Jerome EDGE Youth Nights and costs for students to attend a Catholic Youth Conference in Steubenville, Ohio.
