ROTARY CLUB

On August 24, the 5th annual Station Mall Rotary Charity Golf Classic will tee off in support of the children at THRIVE Child Development Centre.
Since 2013, the tournament has raised $138,000 for THRIVE, a local centre for children and youth under 18 who are impacted by differences in physical, perceptual, communication and developmental trajectories that builds on their unique strengths, gifts and talents.
Past golf tournament funds have been used for augmentative and alternative communication devices, physiotherapy equipment (e.g., treadmills, weights), and making spaces more welcoming for our children, youth & families.
This year’s donation will go toward supporting:
- Materials & devices for THRIVE’s Assistive Communication & Writing Aids Clinic
- Support for THRIVE’s Family Assistance Fund, which provides family with some financial assistance to purchase items such as: appropriate supportive footwear for a child whose family could not afford it, a Magic Bullet for a child who is having difficulty chewing and parents need to make their own high calorie baby food, noise reduction headphones for children with heightened auditory awareness.
- Annual Psychology Clinic provided by 2 visiting psychologists from Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital
- Potentially toward additional therapy space including an enclosed elevated gardening area
Player fees ($175/individual or $600/foursome) include cart rental, on-course contests, player prize package, lunch, 18 holes of golf, and entry to the dinner and auction.
There are also a variety of sponsorship opportunities available. Registration packages and sponsorship information can be found here.
