Algoma Family Services, in partnership with the Sault Community Career Centre, will be hosting a three-day online hiring event from Monday, Jan. 24 until Wednesday, Jan. 26. Algoma Family Services is looking to hire full-time, part-time, contract and casual positions for their specialized services and programs. Algoma Family Services is a provider of specialized services for infants, children, youth, adults and families in Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma District. Now, you have a chance to join their team and help inspire hope and wellness to children and families in our community!
Algoma Family Services is looking for qualified, enthusiastic and reliable team members to fill the following positions:
Counsellor roles:
- Must be registered and in good-standing with a Regulated Professional College
- Master of Social Work or Master of Arts in Counselling preferred
- Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences required
- Equivalent combinations of training and experience may be considered
- B.S.W. or equivalent degree along with a CYW (three-year diploma) required for counsellor, care and treatment role
Counsellor, Wawa – includes signing bonus and expense reimbursement!
- The successful candidate for this position will receive a signing bonus of $5,000 in two installments. The first $2,500 will be paid after completion of the probationary period and the second $2,500 will be paid after completion of first year of employment.
- Moving expenses and first and last month’s rent will also be reimbursed.
Counsellor, adult and EAP roles
- Current registration and in good standing with regulated professional colleges (RSW, RP) is required.
- Master Social Work or MA Counselling required
- Two years clinical experience working in a related field preferred
- Equivalent combinations of training and experience may be considered
Care and treatment workers
- Child and Youth Worker Diploma
- Two years experience working with children and families
- Equivalent combinations of training and experience may be considered
Supervised Access Program
- Social Services Worker Diploma preferred
- Child and Youth Worker Diploma required
- Two year’s experience working with separated and divorced families
